First things first

The main challenge that PhD students face when it comes to exploring their non-academic career options is knowing where to start! Having spent many years in university education, it can be daunting to think of leaving the safety of what you know, and starting to look for work in industry, public service or the charity sector.

The aim of this blog is to give you the confidence and resources you need to identify and apply for jobs outside of academia, making the best use of the skills and experience you’ve gained during your PhD. Many many PhD graduates have gone on to enjoy diverse and fantastic careers and you should be aware of all the opportunities available to you.

Get started by reading the post Why you need to start thinking about a career outside academia – today!.
